They also want the onboarding of new couriers halted, while Wolt says it was not told about the strike.

Wolt couriers are on strike today. According to their announcement, the strike lasts all day, and at 10 a.m. they will gather at Ajdovščina square in Ljubljana. How many will take part is not known, so it is also unclear whether the strike will really be felt at your lunch.

As they wrote in a press release, they decided to strike because of conditions that, in their experience, have become unsustainable. Pay for individual deliveries keeps falling, and on the ground there are too many couriers for the amount of work available. They also struggle to get support while working.

They have four demands: a guaranteed minimum pay of €20 gross for every hour of availability, a temporary halt to onboarding new couriers, effective personal support while working in the field, and a clear and transparent calculation of pay.

In a response to the STA (the Slovenian Press Agency) on Thursday, Wolt stressed that it was not informed about the planned protest. It says it takes the couriers' concerns seriously and is always ready for dialogue with them. The couriers expect the platform operator to meet their representatives after the strike and take a position on the demands.

The strike will also remember a 26-year-old colleague who died on Saturday morning in a traffic accident in the centre of Maribor. According to Večer, while delivering food on a motorbike he hit a car and was then thrown into another car. He died at the scene from severe injuries. Maribor couriers paid tribute to him with a minute of silence on Saturday afternoon and pointed to their wider difficulties.

All the media repeated the same STA agency report, so the details match. For now, nobody has verifiable figures on turnout.
