Wanted in Moldova for sex offences, 37-year-old caught at Ravbarkomanda motorway rest stop
He was driving along the Primorska motorway in a car with Romanian plates. Police then found that an international arrest warrant had been issued for him.

Koper police on Tuesday evening arrested a 37-year-old Romanian citizen at the Ravbarkomanda rest area on the Primorska motorway in western Slovenia. An international arrest warrant had been issued for him, and the judicial authorities of Moldova were looking for him over criminal offences against sexual integrity.
Police dealt with the man at around 18:33. They found him in a passenger car with Romanian registration plates, and a check showed that a warrant had been issued for him. They detained him and took him before a court. The Koper Police Directorate (PU Koper) described what followed:
"Police detained him and brought him before the competent court. Following the decision of the investigating judge, judicial detention of up to 48 hours was ordered against the 37-year-old, after which he was handed over to the Koper prison." (translated)
An international arrest warrant is not a conviction in itself. Guilt is decided by the competent court in the appropriate proceedings. In its statement, the police do not say how proceedings against the Romanian will continue or whether he will be handed over to Moldova.
